2012 BOOK SALE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

 

BOOK SALE - Friends of the Plano Public Library is a non-profit, membership organization dedicated to supporting Plano libraries. Its mission is to serve as an advocate in developing, maintaining, and improving public library resources, services, and facilities for all patrons. Members promote Plano Libraries and donate many hours to host a variety of programs including the annual Friends Book Sale. Dates: August 2-4, 2012.
Location: Plano Centre- 2000 Spring Creek Pkwy. Between Central Exp. and Jupiter

Duties: Volunteers are needed to unload books and place them in appropriate categories. Volunteers are also needed to bag books for patrons and help tally purchases onto a ticket that patrons will take to the cashiers.

Position options:
Cashiers (Friends Members and Library Staff only)
Tally Table (total up book prices for customers before they get to cashier table)
Zone Supervisors (manage the volunteers & tables in section of the sale floor during shifts)
Floor Staff Volunteers (help keep the tables neat and restock tables from book boxes)
Super sorters (help with arranging books and returning to appropriate book boxes)
Loaders (needed to load and unload book boxes)
General (Man the volunteer table, set up signs, and set up lobby, door monitors, dolly pushers, cleanup crew, etc)

Thank you for selecting shifts for the book sale. To complete your application process, please read and accept the waiver below. Teenagers require parent signatures and will need to download, print, complete, and fax or email the completed waiver to tammyko@plano.gov  . Once we receive your completed waiver, we will send you a confirmation email. Please note some positions you are interested in might be full. We will do our best to match you to your desired position.
